Job Description
As a Quantity Surveyor, Major Project Services you will work on a variety of types of contracts negotiating with clients, contractors and service providers of behalf of our customers.
CORE FUNCTION:
• Manage commercial risks associated with contracts and implement suitable control measures
• Negotiate with contractors and clients
• Prepare estimates, schedules, bills of quantities and other documentation
• Manage change, control of cost, time and quality at work order level including evaluating and agreeing costs / variations / compensation events and forecasts
• Agree measures, new rates, valuations and final accounts
• Commercial control of sub-contractors and suppliers including payments
• Present and discuss contractual issues with clients
• Monitor and report of contract costs and finances (both for clients and internal costs) including analysis of actual time reports at work order level against budget
• Produce contract correspondence, reports, notes of meetings and other management information associated with contract delivery including support and advice to Project Manager/Director to ensure appropriate management of risk and opportunity
• Review, understand and implement contract control mechanisms including forecast and programme management
• Close liaison with the delivery teams to ensure service delivery exceeds contract thresholds
• Reporting to Senior Commercial Manager receive guidance and supervision
• Comply with the Way of Working (WoW)
• Other ad hoc activities as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Possess good interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn new skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision and contribute positively to the existing team
• A flexible, accurate and methodical approach to work
• Strong numerical and IT skills, including MS Excel and Word
