We are looking for an Operations Engineering Manager to be based in the West Midlands working for one the world's largest engineering companies with a portfolio and net worth in the Billions.
Paying £70,000pa plus a lucrative package
MUST have department management experience (current role, delivering projects and ideally experience of transforming/changing a department however this is not a pre requisite).
Candidates will be involved in the overall technical assessment of projects; will need to have a strong engineering background, from Electrical or Controls. Having knowledge of Power Electronics or High Voltage would be a bonus! Working with technical specialists however will need a good all round understanding as there will be some customer interface.
Having been focussed previously on Project Delivery – this role is all about the delivery of the “project centric” project.
Responsible for managing a number of concurrent projects. Successful Project Delivery.
Looking for someone who has built and developed a team and has excellent man management skills. Must have the ability to get the “effective execution of projects” out of people.
Responsible for managing 3 small groups
• Station Engineering – 14 people in the team
• Engineering Documentation - 7 – 8 people in the team
• Project Engineering – 14 – 16 in the team
Of the 3 areas, the main emphasis on the leadership skills and exemplary project delivery focus.
There will be an element of interfacing with the customer.
You will be seen as the technical support for the engineering team. Will also need to have or develop operations and a commercial know how.
