Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Lead Commissioning Engineer for a contract position based in the Berkshire on a 6 months contract with an option to renew.

 

Job specification: -

The successful candidate will need to be ideally E & I biased but with all round capability with regard to electrical, mechanical & process understanding. This is a client facing role and the engineer will be expected to interface with the client project managers, engineers and operators to undertake commissioning of various systems ranging from simple pump and control designs to more complex complete works.

 

Responsibilities; -

•             Completing commissioning and test documentation along with producing commissioning RAMS and start up methodologies.

•             Liaise with process commissioning engineers to ensure all commissioning activities have been planned and considered in line with main contract and all necessary standards have been adhered too.

•             Commissioning plant, fault finding and rectification ensuring records, diaries, test sheet and equipment settings are recorded for the O&M manuals.

•             Undertaking Factory Acceptance Testing for major items of plant.

•             Liaising with and co-ordination of our suppliers and subcontractors.

•             Demonstration of commissioned plant to our client’s representatives to gain plant sign off prior to takeover

•             Undertaking client training covering both operational and technical competencies Assist the design team by undertaking site visits to gather information for the purposes of tendering or design prior to construction

•             Provision of emergency call out cover where necessary. Knowledge of PLC software packages would be an advantage

•             Demonstration of commissioned plant to our client’s representatives to gain plant sign off prior to takeover

•             Undertaking client training covering both operational and technical competencies

•             Assist the design team by undertaking site visits to gather information for the purposes of tendering or design prior to construction

 

Requirements: -

•             An industry applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng./B Sc. or NVQ equivalent

 

 

•             CSCS & Hygiene cards

•             Experience and understanding of water & waste processes

•             Good understanding of software integration and testing

•             Be able to fault find fault rectify and produce red line drawings were required

•             Be able to read P&ID, electrical schematic and other construction drawings & schedules

•             Experienced with profibus

•             Familiar with completing commissioning documentation needed for a water treatment works

•             Experience in the water & waste water industry is desirable

•             Experience in similar industries with transferable skills will most definitely be considered
