Job Description

We have an immediate requirement to appoint a Health & Safety Advisor to work on National Grid projects. Work is civil engineering (RC bases, fencing and other infrastructure works). Reporting into the SHEQ Manager, duties include but are not limited to;

 

 

             Assisting and advising Site Management and site staff on all aspects of Health and Safety likely to affect Company operations

             Carrying out duties in accordance with the Company Management System, Policies (including Company Rules), and Statutory and Client requirements – uploading documents to portals

             Providing competent Health, Environmental and Safety advice independent of other functions

             Assisting the Site Management team to undertake measures to comply with SHE legislation

             Undertaking surveys on personal workplace exposure levels to harmful substances, noise and vibration

             Advising & assisting Site Management on implementing CDM as Client/Principal Contractor

             Developing Safety Plans and Safe Working Procedures for civil engineering sites

             Assisting in accident investigation

             Devising company-wide risk management tools along with preventative and protective measures

             Promoting and communicating practices and advances in SHE

             Maintain information update systems on legislation and practices

             Ensuring compliance with procedures for reporting, recording, investigating and analysing; accidents, incidents vs. working-hours

             Implementing monitoring and auditing systems / assistance with Client Audits

             Assisting in the development and implementation of Company systems

             Attending, promoting and participating in site committees helping to improve cross-site communications

             Collation and production of overall Company reports and statistical analysis

             The provision of Health, Safety and Environmental training

             Maintaining professional relationships with external organisations

             Supporting development of junior trainee advisor and guidance in their work based activities

 

 

Qualifications:

NEBOSH National General Certificate - Required

NEBOSH Construction Certificate - Preferred

Membership of IOSH Tech – Preferred
