Job Description

JOB PURPOSE: 
• The Construction Commercial Manager reports to the Senior Commercial Manager and will be accountable and responsible for the proactive management of procurement, contractual and commercial processes / procedures, cost control, reporting, risk management, project P&L and compliance with the project execution plan management. 
• The Construction Commercial Manager will have relevant and previous experience of managing projects up to £ 40 Million or trade packages up to £ 5 Million. 
• The construction Commercial Manager will have a keen interest in site activities, will assist in realising the safety for life expectations and ensure compliance with the company's Vision & Values 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
• Responsible for the commercial performance of projects / trade packages within the remit of ensuring that risk is mitigated / managed, effective management for change & claims commercial closure & that the project performs within the defined commercial expectations 
• DOA / LOA compliance & the elevation of critical matters are communicated as soon as they become apparent with necessary corrective actions 
• Effective Management & Control of the project tender event schedule 
• Establish necessary monitors to ensure project commercial compliance – insurances / tax certs / bonds / warranties etc 
• Responsible for the timely preparation of financial / commercial reports to the Senior Commercial Manager & Project Director 
• Interface with finance department to ensure & define business unit reporting / information requirements, that business unit complies with statutory obligations & that necessary liabilities are identified & Managed 
• Responsible for Client Commercial Satisfaction 
• Maintain effective communication within commercial department & CS Business Line 
• If necessary recruitment & development of staff at all levels within the structure 
• Responsible for project commercial resource planning within the structure 
• Responsible for timely issue of invoices & collection of cash 
• Collaborating with other Commercial Managers within the CS Business Line to assist on the successful running of the business 
• Develop / maintain a common platform of commercial standards that are applicable to the Project 
• Identify, mitigate / minimise, manage & control projects risks 

STAFF REPORTING: 
Staff reporting directly and indirectly: As appropriate to Project Scale

• Experience in negotiating with Clients and trade contractors 
• Technical understanding and working knowledge of forms of contract
