Job Description

- To develop and mature the Business Intelligence service within the company;
- This role will be providing analysis & reporting services and, with the Information Manager, developing dedicated BI service to our business;
- The successful candidate will be able to technically develop BI solutions for key business users;
- To provide Business Intelligence insights to stakeholders;
- To assist the development team in projects by providing database design capability in line with user requirements and systems architecture.

- Provide in-house expertise for the development of the Business Intelligence service;
- Manage, deliver and support allocated projects and activities to develop BI capability;
- Design and Development of SSIS / SSAS OLAP/ SSRS reports / Data Warehouses;
- Designing and Developing the data transfer processes;
- Provide BI expertise to support projects and initiatives;
- Responsible for the Analysis, Design and Coding of highly complex management information reports and dashboards using standard methodologies and techniques;
- Data Validation and Analysis;
- Database schema design;
- To be aware of business continuity processes via Line Manager.

- Proven SQL 2008 & 2012 server skills;
- SSAS - experience of building and deploying OLAP Cubes and MDX to query;
- Tabular models and DAX;
- SSIS – experience of creating, designing and maintaining ETL packages;
- Advanced TSQL scripting including stored procedures;
- SSRS - experience of designing and deploying SSRS Reports using BIDS;
- Excel pivot;
- Power pivot;
- Microsoft Power BI (desirable);
- SQL Server 2014 (desirable);
- Dynamics AX 2012 (desirable);
- O365 (desirable);
- Team Foundation Server (desirable);
- Microsoft Azure (desirable);
- AGILE development including Scrum (desirable);
- Implementing data quality processes including mass and inline DQ assurance (desirable);
- Cross knowledge transfer to other team members;
- Data warehouse / Database design and development within a hybrid  IT solutions environment of both internally and externally hosted applications;
- Demonstrable ability to understand functional requirements and create appropriate and effective technical solutions;
- Proven experience of the development lifecycle for BI projects and best practices for deploying BI enterprise applications;
- Demonstrable knowledge of a multi-dimensional analytic tool and an ETL tool;
- Understanding of BIG data, semi-structured and unstructured data sets (desirable);
- Knowledge of the Construction industry (desirable);
- Adaptable, co-operative, excellent pragmatic approach and not afraid to take the lead.
