Job Description

To secure business opportunities in the Scottish Region of the Engineering Construction Industry all Infrastructure specialism.
To develop and maintain long term relationships and assist in the development of the long term strategy for the Business Unit.

- Principal responsibilities include the following:-
- Secure profitable bidding opportunities in the Scottish Region;
- Develop client relationships;
- Advising Senior Management of business opportunities in the region;
- Completion of OJEU Applications, Pre-qualifications and Questionnaires;
- Play a key role in bid submissions;
- Obtain Client feedback on the company’s performance;
- Promote the capabilities and expertise of the business to new and existing Clients;
- Have a sound understanding of the construction opportunities in the region;
- Development of strong personal relationships with the Client/Consultant/supply chain and staff;
- Track potentially attractive work prospects ensuring opportunity to bid is achieved;
- Preparation of Management Reports;
- Manage Business Development budget;
- To support and be familiar with own role and responsibility in respect of Business Continuity Planning. Ensuring that team members are also aware of the plans and communicates same.

- Qualified to degree level in Civil Engineering;
- Understanding of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (desirable);
- Understanding of Health and Safety Legislation;
- Must be capable of communicating with Client senior managers at all levels;
- Must be capable of writing clear concise business reports;
- Ability to secure business opportunities in civil engineering construction industry across a wide range of projects;
- Good verbal communication;
- Excellent Presentation Skills to all disciplines;
- High standard of English and written communication; 
- Have detailed knowledge of the Construction Industry in Scotland including competitor skills and capabilities;
- Ability to work under own initiative;
- Ability to work under varying work loads and periods of pressure;
- Self motivated, dedicated and proactive;
- Enthusiastic team player with the ability to interact with a variety of different personalities;
- Comprehensive experience in a similar marketing/business development role;
- Either a contracting or consultant background with some time spent in a senior position in similar work type (desirable);
- Experience within a Clientside position would also be considered where appropriate;
- A wide range of Project experience including but not limited to Roads, Utilities, Marine, Local Councils, Private Enterprise Infrastructure Projects;
- Understanding and knowledge of Infrastructure Projects;
- To have the technical and business knowledge necessary to respond to Questionnaires and Prequalification documents (desirable);
- To be able to converse with technical experts;
- Ability to use MS Word and PowerPoint to a high standard.

Due to the geographic area occasional nights away from home may be necessary; 
A full UK Driving License is essential.
